Bristol Busker

Do I have to pay for a permit?

No. All performers must have a permit that is issued by the City of Bristol Tennessee, but there is no charge for that permit.


Where do I apply for a permit?

Viking Hall, Tennessee High School - Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.


How long may I perform?

Two-hour slots are assigned when you apply for a permit.


May I choose the location where I wish to perform?

There are three designated Busk Stops from which to choose. Permits will be issued on a first-come, first-serve basis.


May I use my own donation container?

No. Only the container provided with the permit from the City of Bristol Tennessee may be used.


How many times may I perform?

Performers may sign up for 3 two-hour slots at any given time and no more than one month out from the original date of application.


Where may I return the donation container when city offices are closed, such as weekends and nights?

Containers may be returned to the Bristol Tennessee Police Department located in City Hall on the corner of Eighth and Anderson streets.


May I bring my own sound system?

There is no amplification allowed at Busk Stops.


What do I need to bring when requesting a permit?

A valid address and phone number will be required, along with a driver’s license or a state-issued ID.
